commonly asked questions
Since you may have never heard of a fanlisting - or Anna - before, this FAQ is meant to let all visitors know what the main foundation of this site is about. These are very simple questions that seem to get asked a lot, but they can be very helpful if you know the answer to them!Q: What is a fanlisting?
A: A fanlisting is a website where fans of a particular thing/person/place/etc can come and submit their information to make a huge list of all the fans of that topic from around the world. It is 100% free, and their are few rules and requirements. There are many thousands of fanlistings on the internet, and a lot of them are listed at thefanlistings.org, including this site.
Q: Who is Anna Popplewell?
A: Anna Popplewell is a professional film, television, and stage actress from London, England. She starred in her first on-screen role in a UK television production of Frenchman's Creek in 1998. She became internationally known for her role as Susan Pevensie in the film The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe released by Disney and Walden Media in 2005, as well as The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian that was released in 2008.
Q: Who runs this website?
A: My name is Haley, and I have run the Anna fanlisting since April 2008. It was originally located at another domain I own, but was moved to the anna-popplewell.org domain upon purchase in May 2008. I was able to "adopt" this fanlisting from its original owner, Becca, who had owned the fanlisting since 2005.
Q: Didn't this site used to have a different address?
A: Yes, and the site still remains at that address! This site owns two domains: anna-popplewell.co.uk and anna-popplewell.org. Our primary URL (web address) before 2011 was anna-popplewell.org, but as of early 2011 this site's URL has been switched to the co.uk. The site is still accessible from both URLs, though, to avoid any confusion or broken links!
Q: Who made the graphical and text content for this website?
A: As of March 2010, all content has been created by myself unless otherwise stated. Graphical images such as layout pieces have all been put together by me, as well of most of the other graphical elements. There are some fan-made graphics that have been contributed to this site as present in the Stuff for the Fans section of this site, though. Textual content on this site has been put together by me unless otherwise stated; it has all been compiled from online interviews, news articles, and other independent research I've done.
Q: Do you know Anna and can you give her a message from me?
A: I do not know Anna personally, but if I did I would give her messages from fans, most definitely! That said though, I don't have any affiliation or contact with Anna herself, her family, her agent, or her management. Sorry! I wish I could contact her directly, too!
Q: How can I send fanmail to Anna?
There are two addresses established for accepting fan-written messages for Anna and both have had reported successes - messages and autographs back from Anna - from fans around the world. I do not know which is the more "successful" of the two, but please keep in mind Anna is probably quite busy with her studies, family life, and other things someone her age would do! Here are the two addresses:
Main UK Address:
Anna Popplewell
c/o Sasha Leslie Management
34 Pember Road
London, NW10 5LS
UK
USA Address:
Anna Popplewell
Creative Artists Agency
2000 Avenue of the Stars
Los Angeles, CA 90067
USA
Special Instructions: You may send mail or autograph requests to these addresses, but in order to obtain a reply back with or without an autograph, there are some instructions to follow to ensure you can receive response mail. If you live in the UK, you can send a standard 110mm x 220mm (at smallest) with sufficient postage and your return address to the UK address listed above. The 110mm x 220mm envelope is extremely common and may be referred to as a DL envelope accommodating an A4 (3x folded) document. If you would like an autograph or other larger message sent back to you, you need to include a picture you want signed in your envelope (you may include a piece of cardboard to protect the photo from damage during transit). You might also want to write something like "Do not bend" or "Handle with care" on the outside to let mailworkers know your letter may contain papers that shouldn't be bent.
If you do not live in the UK and wish to mail your letter to the UK address, methods of mailing may vary according to your country. However, the best way to ensure you will get a response back with no trouble is by purchasing adequate International Reply Coupons (IRCs) at a local post office in your country to pay for the equivalent mailing fees in the UK. The price of these coupons will definitely be differently for every country because of currency values. As of October 2009, a IRC can be purchased in the United States for $2.10 (USD), where as in Canada IRCs cost $4.00 (CAD) as of January 2010. Check with your postal service to make sure they are available for purchase and how much it would be to mail your letter to the UK.
After you send your letter, please be patient and expect to wait several months for a reply. People have reported waiting 3 or more months for a response, but that they are very much worth the wait!
